Außerdem werden unter Druck und Hitze die für den Verdauungstrakt schwer verdaulichen Stärkebestandteile in leichtere und einfache Kohlenhydrate und Zucker aufgespalten. Vitamine und alle anderen Nährstoffe bleiben erhalten, da die Wirkung der Temperatur nur von kurzer Dauer ist und im Bruchteil einer Sekunde eintritt. Dadurch verlieren die Tiere nicht ihre Kraft bei der Verdauung des Futters, sondern setzen ihre gesamte Energie und Kraft für die Steigerung ihres Körpergewichts und der Milchproduktion ein. Die Verdaulichkeit des Futters durch die tierischen Organismen liegt bei 90 %.
