After that, it switches to a base flow rate (approx. 10% of the large volume). The nitrogen flow rate of the base flow is measured, displayed, and monitored using a flow meter and limit switch. The O2 monitoring continuously extracts gas from the test chamber via a flame arrester and feeds it to an O2 sensor, which monitors the residual oxygen content of the extracted air. The gas is then passed through a second flame arrester and returned to the test chamber. The extraction pump is monitored using a volume flow meter.
