20-head multihead weigher in TWIN configuration, built for frozen meat.

The MultiWeigh HDW 20-40-60 TWIN is a multihead weigher with twenty weigh hoppers, made by HD-Wiegetechnik in Wetzlar. Thanks to the TWIN configuration the machine can run as two weighers and discharge two portions at once, or use all twenty hoppers for one heavy portion. The range runs from 230 grams to 5 kilos per weighment, with a 5-gram scale interval.

The machine was built for frozen meat (product range 0 to -15 °C): dimpled stainless steel contact parts the product does not stick to, a wash-down IP65 build and an IPC controller with colour touchscreen. Built in 2012, complete with dispersion cone, feed pans and accessories. It is in Emmeloord and can be viewed and tested with your product.

Why a TWIN weigher

For every weighment a multihead weigher picks the combination of hoppers that comes closest to the target weight. With twenty hoppers the controller has plenty of combinations to choose from, and in TWIN mode the machine splits them over two outlets. One weigher then feeds two packaging machines or two lanes. For large portions you run all twenty hoppers to a single outlet. That makes the machine suitable for small retail packs as well as foodservice portions of up to 5 kilos.
